Our Kilts are created by ScotKilt's own master kiltmakers and tailors based in the Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands, using tailoring skills that are the bench mark for quality.
For example, we insist on pressing all of our kilts at various stages of their manufacture, to help create the shape which will ensure that the kilt will hang well when worn.
We press and shape the Canvas prior to stitching it to the kilt, this technique ensures that the Canvas is pre- shrunk prior to fitting to the kilt. If this technique is not done before fitting the Canvas to the kilt, the kilt may take on an odd shape as the canvas will shrink and may twist and distort the shape of the kilt. The rule of thumb is make the canvas fit the kilt and not the kilt fit the canvas.
We offer kilts in a variety of cloth weight...medium, heavy and special weave. This enables the customer to choose from a huge number of tartans, including Clan, District, County and BeSpoke.
